My Song Library

Ever been in a predicament or in a jam for a lost of words to a particular song? I know the feeling!, because I've been searching for over 15 years for the words of a song called, "Flor De Maria" ... and I still can't find them; have even asked friends and musicians, but nobody can recall the song; much less the lyrics. The record came out in the mid-70s if I am correct; done by a group from Mexico I think; [just like the popular song, " El Golpe Traidor", that became a hit here in the United States.] Oh well, I'll keep looking and looking until I find it, and while we're on the same subject, it would make a very good conjunto recording with today's modern recording studios - trust me!

The following is just a partial listing of some of the songs I have on my computer database. Let me know if you need the words to some of the songs listed below and I'll gladly email them to you. Before I had set a limit of three songs only, and that was due to the overwhelming demand some years back - the link however is back again for all of you. Thanks for visiting tejanomike dot com!

Don Luis, El Tejano

EN UN BARRIO POBRE LLAMADO LA MIRA
ALLA EN LAREDO TEJAS, DON LUIS NACIO UN DIA
SE CREO CON NOPALES, FRIJOLES, TORTILLAS
CON TACOS Y LIEBRES, CON JUEVOS Y MIGAS.

QUE SALIO BIEN MACHO, IQUAL QUE SU PADRE
UMILDE Y BIEN FIRME, CORAZON UMANO
TAMBIEN ERA TIERNO, GRACIAS A SU MADRE
TENIA SANGRE AZTECA, DON LUIS EL TEJANO.

SE FUE A LOS TRABAJOS POR TODITO TEJAS
Y POR DEMAS SUELDO, SE FUE A OTROS ESTADOS
CON TODA SU CRIA, CUBRIO TANTAS MILLAS
QUE UN SURCO LARGO, PASARON LOS ANOS.

CUANDO YA SUS IJOS, TODOS SE CASARON
DON LUIS YA CANSADO, VOLVIO PARA TEJAS
ENCONTRO LO MISMO QUE UN DIA ABIA DEJADO
PA LOS CAMPESINOS, LA MISMA POBRESA.

SESENTA Y SINCO ANOS NO FUERON BASTANTES
PA PODER VAGAR A DON LUIS EN LA MARCHA
Y CON CADA PASO QUE DAVA ASI A AUSTIN
GRITAVA FURIOSO, QUE VIVA LA RASA.

EN UN DIA DE INVIERNO RRODIAO DE FAMILIA
MURIO EN SAN ANTONIO, DON LUIS EL TEJANO
Y LA ULTIMA COSA QUE DON LUIS LES DIJO
SEA LA PAZ LA FUERZA, Y QUE VIVA EL TEJANO.
